Ambiguous Grief

Jun 23
1 min read

Many women come to me with ambiguous grief, a sense of loss and sadness that is not associated with the death of a loved one.

It may be a result of abandonment, separation/divorce, estrangement of family members, infertility, mental illness, to name a few.

It can be difficult for others to understand who are not going through this kind of loss as it is more complex than traditional grief. It is often not fully recognised by society and the women who come to me do not know it has a name.

If you are experiencing ambiguous grief, be kind to yourself, let yourself feel it, accept that it is a natural response to what you have been going through. It will come and go, and that is ok.

Love and blessings
