Time to slow down ššš³š§āāļø
Some days we need to spend more time going inward. We may sense this through feeling our energy levels drop, our body may feel achy, our mind may feel overwhelmed or scattered, our thinking may be more negative than usual, we may feel this desire to curl up into a ball or escape the noise and busyness of the world.
This is when it important to make self-care a priority. Like the ebb and flow of the sea, we must respect our rhythms that flow high and low. During the down moments it is important to slow down and practice self-care.
Self-care may look like:
šJournalling about how you are feeling (I have a journal on my free resources page)
šMeditating/visualisation
šReading a book you enjoy
šPostponing/cancelling unimportant plans/tasks
šGoing for a walk
šYoga
šCreating art ā drawing, painting
šSpending time in nature
šTalking with a kind friend
šAny other activity that feels good, nurturing and loving to your body, mind and soul
We all need moments to rest and nurture ourselves. The more we take time to care for our wellbeing, the more clarity we have and the more joyful and love filled our life becomes.
Practicing self-care causes your brain pathways to begin shifting towards healthier, self-compassionate positive thoughts. Consistently acting in this way creates new brain pathways, so that choosing positive habits to support your wellbeing (with more successful outcomes) becomes a natural habit that you will do daily. You have more clarity about your life, what makes you happy and what things you need to let go of.
On a metaphysical level, choosing self-care, causes your energetic system to vibrate at a higher level thus creating harmony, happiness and inspiration.
When you look after yourself, you are also leading by example for your loved ones to look after themselves too.
Happy resting

P.S. I know it can be difficult to find time for selfācare, I have 2 children (one of them being a very busy and noisy toddler!), but I know how important self-care is, so I still prioritise it. When my youngest was a newborn I would meditate in bed while he was sleeping (yes even in the sleep deprived days with a newborn who didnāt sleep much ha ha!), I couldnāt meditate long before I passed out from exhaustion but just a few minutes makes a difference.
